EYELINER CONTRAINDICATIONS

​

• Under 18 years of age 

• Pregnancy

• Breastfeeding - anesthetic is not possible, so service is not possible 

• Botox less than one week prior to appointment

• LASIK surgery less than 3 months prior to appointment

• Currently have eyelash extensions

• Keloids, birthmarks or moles in area, or if you have tendency to keloid 

• Diabetic - doctor's note is required and an addendum to consent form must be signed by Client 

• Autoimmune disorders being treated with steroid medication - doctor's note is required and an addendum to consent form must be signed by Client 

• Cancer – must be 6 months post chemo, otherwise a doctor's note of clearance is required and an addendum to consent form must be signed by Client 

• Circulatory or bleeding disorders - doctor's note is required and an addendum to consent form must be signed by Client 

• Epilepsy - doctor's note is required 

• Hemochromatosis - doctor's note is required 

• Currently taking blood thinning medication 

• Currently on Accutane - must wait a minimum of 6 months after treatment ends 

• Any symptoms of skin disease or irritation present on the lash lines or eyelid area 

• Old eyeliner micropigmentation/ tattoo- Emily will discuss with Client 

• Use of any “lash growth serum” such as LatisseR or other brands must be discontinued for a minimum of 30 days prior to service. These serums cause the skin of the lash lines to be much more vascular than normal which leads to excessive bleeding

• Inability to lie down.  Service requires Client to lie still, flat on their back throughout the pigment application portion of the appointment

• Known resistance to numbing agents such as Novocaine/ lidocaine.  Numbing is a necessary step of the permanent eyeliner service.  If an individual does not experience numbness when agents are administered prior to other procedures such as dental work, they will not be able to become numb for this service either and are therefore not a candidate for service
